Although very informative, I have always found campsite handbooks to be a somewhat time consuming aid for planning our trips away. Finding a site close to our intended destination, usually involves a considerable amount of thumbing backwards and forwards through the pages, and the ideal campsite can be easily missed.
By plotting campsite information into my AutoRoute* program, finding a stop over for our next trip has now become a much simpler and more pleasurable experience. * ® Microsoft Corporation

I have found AutoRoute* 2006 to be a very worthwhile upgrade.
As well as showing the one way street systems in the UK and many European countries, of special interest to me is the advanced GPS feature which now has voice guidance and map rotation in the direction of travel.
I have loaded this program on my laptop and linked it to a GPS receiver to guide us on our trips. This has (thankfully) removed those all too well remembered 'incidents' which involved a large road atlas, a blur of waving arms and a certain lady in the passenger seat shouting indignantly 'You know I mean right when I say left !
Although this set-up may be bulkier than a dedicated GPS device, even the keenest GPS user will envy the ability to have tens of thousands of pushpins on a map as POI's and each one showing a host of text information.
The costs of good entry level laptop and a USB plug-in GPS receiver is now very close to that of a dedicated GPS device and when our journey has ended I can use my laptop to write up our travel journal, play a DVD, play our favourite music, update this website, log on to the internet etc, etc, etc, etc.
If you are contemplating purchasing this version, please consider buying it (or any other item) through the above link at Amazon. You will not only enjoy the same discounted price on any purchase but also help sponsor these pushpin files.
Please Note:- Whether in their original form or converted to a GPS or any other format, I make my files available for personal use only and they are not to be made available from any other source than this webpage.

| French Campsites |
Although far from complete, this pushpin set shows information on some 3½ thousand French campsites which should help to plan a trip around France. I will add more campsites (of all types) as their information becomes available.
The location of some campsites may be slightly adrift and more accurate location information will be greatly appreciated.

NB:- Although every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of pushpin location and information, these files should be used as a guide only and details relating to individual campsites should be verified prior to booking or arrival on site. I would be most grateful for user feedback on any campsite location or site detail errors.
