Wall and Ceiling Panelling

Ideally, the carpeted ply panels should be fixed after all appliances and fixtures are installed.
Plan to cut the panels into manageable sizes using several to cover a large area, especially the ceiling.
After fixing timber battens to walls and ceiling where necessary, fix the insulation (which can be temporarily held in place with sticky tape).
Prior to screwing the carpeted panels to the battens, drill or cut holes in the panels where necessary for any electric tails which feed lights, sockets and switches etc.
Start by fitting panels at floor level and work toward the ceiling using the method shown in Figs. 4 to 6 where two panels meet.

Cut the ply or MDF panel to size, cut the carpet 50mm larger than the panel and ensure that any 'grain' in the carpet is running the right way. Stick the face of the panel to the back of the carpet ( I used Evostick Timebond )

Cut the corners of the carpet leaving 5mm of carpet overhanging the panel corners. Apply adhesive to the back of the carpet flaps and the back of the panel

Where two panels are to meet, leave a flap of carpet unstuck. The loose flap will be tucked under the adjoining panel to leave a neat join.
